ROADTRIPPIN'.

20 hours. T-W-E-N-T-Y. H-O-U-R-S. That is how long it took us to drive to Oklahoma! With CHILDREN! Lol. I was sooooo nervous, not gonna lie! (I shared about traveling with babies and flying here, and Disney here if you like travel stuff!)

I made sure to be very very organized. Each kid had their own section of toys, games, and crayons. I sliced fruit and veggies, bought lots of individual bags of snacks, and made sure to have plenty of apple sauce and yogurt pouches. I had old plastic bags to use for trash, and giant bottles of Essentia water to refill our individual bottles.

The oils we made sure to have within easy reach were AromaEase and Peppermint and TummyGize for calm tummies, Valor and Peace & Calming to chill us out, and Brain Power on the back of Chris’ neck while he drove for focus! We had this diffuser going the whole car ride too!

I always bring the kid’s favorite blankets, and their pillows too! When it was time to sleep, I gave them each a little ImmuPro for immune support plus to help them sleep :)

On the way there, we drove 10 hours, stopped overnight at an AirBnB, and then finished the 10 hour drive the next day. On the way home, we left at 3pm and drove straight through!

There were a few things that made our trip MUCH easier. First two things - this car organizer and this lap tray! The kids kept their ipads, headphones (we have a Chevy Suburban with a built in DVD player and it was AMAZING for this long trip. I ordered a bunch of dvds, and I was amazed at how much it kept their attention. Much much better than the ipads! They really barely used the ipads - mainly to play games on!), water bottles, and lovey stuffed animals in the car organizer and could easily reach it all. The lap tray they kept next to them and would pull it up to color, draw, or play with little toys I had packed.

The biggest hit was the whiteboard that came on the tray haha! Mila LOVED coloring on it! Also, these window cling stickers were played with over and over and over. Grey LOVED this license plate game, and he made sure to track every car license plate he saw! This Tape thing was pretty fun for Grey too!

Pretty much anything Melissa & Doug makes is a hit - especially these Water Wow sets, and Mila loved this sticker book! I always get Grey a garbage truck and cans to play with, and Mila got a stuffed dog vet set. Grey loves opening a new Rainbowcorn for long car rides too - he calls them his babies lol.

Each kid gets their own kid’s Yeti cup, and these never spill or leak which is why we have a million of them! We used this kid’s portable potty for #2 stops (for pee, we just pulled over and went on the side of the road…was easier!) and these bags (doubled as a trash bag!)

We kept water, iced coffee, yogurt and applesauce pouches, sliced carrots and cucumbers, and berries in our Yeti cooler with ice packs. We noticed that rest stops rarely had Starbucks open, so we made sure to pack coffees!!! We didn’t use rest stops much at ALL this trip.

The kids did GREAT. So great, we decided to buy a travel trailer so we could do these kinds of trips more often, and stop in more of the beautiful places our country has to offer!
