Hi.

I’m Annie!

GARDENING FOR LAZY PEOPLE

GARDENING FOR LAZY PEOPLE

GARDENING FOR LAZY PEOPLE

That’s me, baby! I love the idea of a garden, the romanticizing myself picking my ripe produce and herbs in an aesthetic woven basket to use to prepare dinner - but usually I just forget to water everything and it dies, or I forget to harvest it and it all rots.
SO I have had to make things very efficient and easy for myself over the years.

SEEDLINGS

I love instant gratification - and for me that is getting already started organic veggie, fruit, and herb seedlings when I can find them! It just is fun to be able to come home, plop that basil plant into a cute pot, and feel like you’re a domestic goddess.

SEEDS

I do love to start seeds most years, mainly because I can choose exactly what I am going to grow. My favorite place to order organic & non-GMO seeds is hands down Bucktown Seed Co. I love this company so much! They are a local company from my hometown, and have so many options for organic and non-GMO, heirloom seeds, plus the best collections like:
Homegrown Wellness: my dream to be a kitchen witch just got way easier! Holy Basil (Tulsi), Resina Calendula, Sage, Chamomile, Echinacea, Lemon Balm
Family Pizza Night: San Marzano Tomato, Italian Genovese Basil, Emerald Giant Sweet Pepper, Cocozelle Zucchini, Roquette Arugula, Red Burgundy onion
Freshly Cut Blooms: for starting a cut flower garden!!! Polar Bear zinnia, Teddy Bear sunflower, Snapdragon mix, Sensation mix cosmos, Texas Plume celosia, Lemon Mint bee balm
and so many more.

I really love how Bucktown Seed Co has so many pre-done collections, including starter sets, so that there is less thinking for us!

GARDEN LOCATIONS

When it comes to where to start your garden - I have done them all! I have had an in-ground bed (not for me), raised beds, everything on my patio in big pots, Greenstalk planters (outdoors) and even an indoor grow tower. My preferred method (aka what I am most likely to take care of and water and not kill) is the GreenStalk planters on my porch.
GreenStalk planters - These are the BEST and they grow so much!!! You can put them on your porch, anywhere outside your home, and you can easily move them around. You water them from the top (stick a hose in there for a couple mins and youre done!) which makes it hard to mess up. I gave mine away when we moved to Florida, but am buying more to put in my lanai. I just really love the ease of watering everything and the sheer amount of produce you can grow in a very small space. I prefer the height of the 5-Tier option! (use code ANNIE10 for a discount)
Grow light for starting your indoor seeds, and a smaller version.

LettuceGrow Tower: I used this indoors during the winter when I lived in PA, it was amazing for having fresh herbs and salad greens.

BOOKS & STORAGE

These are the best cases sort and store your seeds! I have loved how I can see and organize exactly what I have.

This book is my favorite - choose your region (my southeast friends, here ya go!) Also love this one on Back to Eden style gardening.
This is called The Family Garden Plan and is a must-have book!
