HOW TO NOT BE A BITCH EVERY MONTH.
BUT REALLY.
I dunno about you, but getting your monthly period kinda blows. I have, over the last few years, found some tools to help me manage it, and really get through that time of the month without being a complete bitch to my husband. I feel like I should share my tips? LOL
I haven’t been on birth control now for probably 15 years, and it was realllll hard to get my cycle regular after that. I got off of birth control because I didn’t like what it was doing to my body or my hormones. We’ve done natural family planning since then, and it’s worked great for us. I also just ordered this fertility tracker to try - one of my girlfriends loves it!
Here are a few things that have helped me soooo much!
HORMONE SUPPORT.
Healthy hormones make for a happy woman.
PROGESSENCE PLUS |
Okay, this one is what helped balance my cycles like nothing I’ve ever seen. It took a few months, but my cycles became more regular in when they came, and how long they came. I only get cramps the first day now. This also helps me not be so bitchy during my period. How do I know? Because when I forget to use it, I can tell a difference and so can everyone around me. I used this to help me get pregnant with Mila, and through my early pregnancy as well to keep my Progesterone levels high. This serum can be used in all stages of a woman’s life!
It has Sacred Frankincense, Bergamot, Clove, Balsam, Copaiba, Cedarwood, and Peppermint as well as wild yam extract and Vitamin E. Wild yam extract is a naturally occurring phytoestrogen that helps balance out estrogen and progesterone levels. Any negative things you’ve seen in relation to progesterone refers to the SYNTHETIC forms of progesterone. It is so important to use a natural progesterone supplement, not synthetic.
DRAGON TIME |
Hi, meet your PMS bestie. I roll this on my ankles and abdomen as soon as I notice it’s my time! This is another one that is hugely helpful for cramps anddd emotions. Clary sage, fennel, lavender, yarrow, marjoram, and jasmine. I love to add a few drops to epsom salt and soak in the tub too!
ENDOFLEX |
Healthy thyroid function, hormones, metabolism, and adrenals has been crucial for my energy levels and emotions. I dilute and roll over my thyroid a few times a day.
My kids even get a roller with this in it! It helps tackle those BIG emotions and tantrums. I do equal parts Endoflex, Grounding, and Sacred Mountain with carrier oil for them!
JOVI PATCH.
So a few months back, I heard about this pain patch for your period - Jovi. No chemicals, no toxic crap, totally non-invasive. I was a lilllll skeptical, but started reading up on it, (their science page is great for the nerds who need to know everything like me) and gave it a go. AND YES HOLY SHIT IT WORKED. I use it the first day or two when my cramps are the worst. I bought them for three of my besties because I knew it would help them. They are reusable, so one patch will last forever. You can buy new adhesive for the back, or just let your undies hold it in like I do haha.
It works anywhere you’re having pain, so I tend to put it on my back and shoulders when I have been carrying Mila around all day.
I have a code for you guys - it’s HAUSER and it’ll take $20 off for you!
PINE.
There is a lot going on in the world right now. A lot of “new” in terms of medical stuff. And some women are noticing changes in their cycles. Could it be related? I don’t know, but I sure as shit think we should be studying it, and not discounting other women’s lived experiences. I don’t think we should be writing it off as a coincidence.
I will never live in a bubble, or segregate myself from other people because of the medical choices they make for their own health. I believe we have a responsibility to care for our own bodies, and make decisions that are best for us.
We have been using a LOT of Pine, and really all and any tree, essential oils around here. If you hop on the good old DuckDuckGo and plug in some key words, you’ll find some really interesting research on pine needle tea and essential oils, and the compounds they contain. I haven’t dipped into the pine needle tea yet, but I am using all the tree oils I can. We are diffusing them constantly, and I’ve made rollers for the kids to use daily down their spines and feet. I’ve added it to our wellness rollers too!
I hope this helps a little, you guys! XO
